Getting in Shape with Wine
Once the holiday season is over and all the gifts are unwrapped, and celebrations celebrated, it’s time for resolutions and getting fit. That means going to the gym for some! If you ate too many holiday desserts, you might find that your clothes fit a bit snugger than they did two weeks ago! But not to fret.

Getting fit in the cold winter months is not impossible!
First thing’s first. Drink lots of water, choose healthy snacks and avoid excess carbs! But we do have good news for you. There is no need to resist the temptation of wine! So, go ahead and continue celebrating well into the new year. If you heed a bit of caution, and stay away from liquor and beer, which contain high amounts of sugar, wine is a great way to satisfy your palate without feeling guilty. If you’re going out in the evening and want to have a drink or two among friend, the best approach is to stay away from cocktails, opt for a diet soda or drinks containing lemon since they reduce the intake of alcohol.

And if you absolutely want a glass of red wine, just cut your carbs in half, increase your protein intake and go for it! It’s best to order light alcohol drinks like wine, then a sugary cocktail, especially if you drink it earlier in the evening so you can burn it off with a bit of dancing if you’re out on the town. Or a solid walk home. Keep this in mind – one gram of alcohol is equivalent to seven calories.

So, if you want to avoid gaining weight, follow these two simple rules: drink in moderation and eat well. And you can be sure to get in shape this new year!
