How Long Can My Wine Age For?
It's a question that every wine buyer has asked themselves at least once: can my wine age? Will it get better if I store it in my house's cellar?

There is no hard and fast rule, but it is a misconception that all wine can be aged. It depends almost entirely on the type of grape and the production methods used. For instance, the fermentation process and use of barrels can play a significant role.

Typically, red wines are more likely to come out better from aging than white wines. However, some varieties of white wine, like Chardonnay and Riesling, can benefit from aging. Among red wines, Sangiovese wines and those that are blended to include Sangiovese are examples of some of the most likely to age gracefully.

When in doubt, it's always worth checking with the producer or a trusted wine professional. Aging wine can enhance the experience - but aging the wrong type can be very unpleasant indeed.
