“Whether wine is a nourishment, medicine or poison is a matter of dosage.” – Paracelsus
Who are we to dispute the wise words of Peracelsus, a Swiss physician, alchemist and astrologer of the 16th century. And what is even more, Peracelsus is known as the father of toxicology, which focuses on the study of adverse effects of chemical substances on living organisms, so he must know a thing or two about the incredible benefits of wine when drunk in small doses.
Now we all know that anything drunk or done in excess can be “poison” but the right dosage of wine daily can actually be both nourishment and medicine making it one of our favorite drinks!
Now a toast to Paracelsus over some sparkling wine!
