The first step that you need to do is putting your potatoes and broth into a large pot together. Most people choose to use chicken broth. Bring these two things to a boil and then reduce the heat, but make sure that they continue to simmer for around 15 minutes or until the potatoes are able to be pierced with a fork. 
 
The next step is adding your kale. Stir the kale while it begins to wilt. Continue to cook the kale while stirring occasionally until the kale is a very bright green color this takes about 5 minutes. After you have done this remove your soup from the heat. 
 
The next step is to put the mixture into a blender, you usually have to do this step in two separate batches. You want to puree the mixture in your blender. Then all you have to do is add your cheddar cheese and your soup is ready to eat!
