Let It Wine Facts – Swirling Wine Makes It Taste Better
Wine Fact: Swirling Your Wine Glass Actually Improves the Experience We’ve all been there – at a fancy restaurant with wine service, your sommelier pours you and your friends a glass of wine and suddenly everyone begins swirling their glasses.

You will be happy to know that this is not a trending tradition, but it actually has a useful and necessary purpose. A large part of appreciating wine is appreciating its aromas as well – so your nose is just as important as your mouth when it comes to drinking wine. In order to give your nose a little nudge, the best thing to do is (gently) swirl your wine in your glass to release the aromas.

And here’s another fun fact – wine glasses are usually not filled to the rim because the released aromas need a place to be trapped – and that place is the empty space in your glass!

Now go ahead, and try it for yourself with a Brunello di Montalcino
