The word dessert may be synonymous with elaborate cakes and complicated recipes, but there are other delicacies worth finishing your meal with such as the delectable pears in wine recipe.
Here is an absolutely irresistible red wine and pears recipe worth a go.
- 5 pears
- 1 cup of sugar
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 ½ of red wine
- 3 clove nails
- 2 cardamom berries
- ¾ of water
- 2 anise stars
First boil together your wine, sugar and water in a saucepan. Gently add the crushed spices and, after a few minutes, the peeled pears. After fifteen minutes on low heat remember to turn the pears so that the wine and spices penetrate all sides.
Remove each pear from the liquid and once plated, pour the remaining (filtered) wine liquid syrup over your pears. Bon Appétit!
